We began Five Season Farm in 1974 with one very talented mare. She finished her brief show career with a World Championship in 1978. We were "hooked" on Paints, and set our goals to selectively build our program in the image of that mare: Paint Horses with outstanding ability, exceptional disposition, and correct conformatiom.
Our 35-year commitment has not only involved breeding and promoting Paint Horses. Our passion for the breed and the association that serves it led Paul to accept the honor of serving on the APHA's Executive Committee for 5 years, culminating with his tenure as APHA President in 2005.
We relocated our farm to its present location in southern Kentucky in 1987. While we continued showing and building a band of mares with outstanding show records, we focused on finding an exceptional sire who possessed the attributes that would allow us to reach our goals. In 1999 we purchased our stallion ZIPMOTIZE. His show career began with a 4th overall win in a talented western pleasure class of 2YOs at the APHA World Show. Following the World, he went on to win 6 prestigous futurity shows across the country. He has excelled as a sire as well, consistently passing on his fluid movement, color, and most importantly, the disposition we strive for with our breeding program.
